Hey all!
Here's my video for SevenBookBabes this week. In it, I show off our cat Samson, my ARC and VC Andrews shelves, and play B*Witched while I talk. :) Hope you enjoy it!
Will try and post a review tomorrow to break up this vlog and the IMM vlog so there's not too many videos close to each other.
Oh and also, go see this wonderful vlog Melissa Walker did for my blogiversary here!

In My Mailbox- Week of March 30
Before I show off the vlog, here's some contests I want to tell you about:
1) Taren is running a contest for three of the five books in the Cutler series by VC Andrews on her blog The Chick Manifesto as part of the VC Andrews "Read the Good Trash" Movement. Click here to enter!
2) Ravenous Reader is running a contest because she got an extra ARC of Fragile Eternity (and I can't even get one, lol), so go check it out here!
And now, this week's set of books in vlog format, followed by my story about 20 Boy Summer.
OK, so my camera was on low batteries so I didn't get to finish this story, which is actually fine as I was cutting it VERY close anyway. It's also fine as I wasn't sure how to pronounce Sarah's last name. Now, I've been saying it as it looks- Ockler (the "ock" pronounced like it is in the word "dock"). However, in other vlogs, I've heard it pronounced with a long O (sorta like Oak) and this is done by people who have actually met her. So they could very well be right, but at the same time, I feel I'm right but only because I hate being wrong, lol. So Sarah, which is it?
Anyway, back to 20 Boy Summer. Sarah emailed me on Myspace like a month or so ago and asked if I wanted a review copy. Of course, I said yes because a) I want the book and b) Sarah's gonna be a Fresh New Voice of YA for the month of June (btw, just so everyone knows how geeky I am, I plan out these FNVs a long time in advance- I have up to September right now). So several weeks pass and everyone else is getting their copies of 20 Boy Summer but I have not. Eventually, Sarah emailed both myself and Kristi (The Story Siren) on Facebook wondering if we'd gotten our copies yet. And we did! I got mine the day after she emailed me (this is how it works, seriously- I will send off an email about a certain book or someone will email to see if I've recieved it, and it either shows up in the mail that day or the next day. It's FREAKY.) Kristi also got hers- YAY! So it's all good now. :)
And now, a list with links of all the books I mention in this vlog (in order)!
Freaked by J.T. Dutton
A Proper Education for Girls by Elaine DiRollo
Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
Discordia: The Eleventh Dimension by Dena K. Salmon
20 Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler
See you all tomorrow with a new post about something, lol. I'm not entirely sure what I'll be posting. There may be a new picture post coming up this week!

Bookshelves, Packages, and Cats- Oh My!
Yes, it's the picture post you've all been waiting for, but it'll be shown over two parts. Yes, because I have that many books but also a lot of pics (and a video!) to show you that are not book-related. So here we go, starting off with a bookshelf pic and interspersing them with other pics:

Here is the top half of the bookcase that you see behind me in all the vlogs I do! As you can see, this has one shelf of the VC Andrews books (I have them in chronological order). You'll also see a shelf of CDs here too- feel free to take a gander at what kind of music I have. You'll see other CDs in other pictures too, lol.

Here is the stack of stuff that I talked about in this past week's In My Mailbox vlog. As you can see, there is a knife on the left with which to open the boxes, and my laptop is on the right. Doesn't my laptop look sleek and shiny? I love it!
And yes, that is my bed.

In a short photo session with my cat Samson, this was the best picture of the bunch (don't worry, there are better ones below and more in the next picture post). Doesn't it look like the kind of picture that you'd find in a yearbook or on a driver's license. By that, I mean, a horrible picture that, if Samson were human, he'd be embarassed about me posting on the internet for all to see. He is still cute though.
And yes, that is my hoodie hanging on the chair.

This was the beginning of my clean-up-all-the-loose-books phase that I went through this past week. I used the two Amazon boxes from the picture above to put books in! Having these boxes is helping a LOT. Some fun things of note include the UK edition of Pants on Fire by Meg Cabot (re-titled Tommy Sullivan is a Freak there) that I got from Meg when she was giving out copies of her books on her blog (I also got She Went All the Way, which will be in another picture), my copy of Breathing by Cheryl Renee Herbsman, a signed copy of Angel's Choice by Lauren Baratz-Logsted that I won in a contest on her blog a while back, and This is Not ChickLit, an anthology that I won from a readergirlz chat.

I just looked at this picture on my laptop just now and it made me laugh hysterically. Just because his head looks all 3-D like I'm wearing those silly glasses and his face is jumping out of the screen at me. This is from the second photo shoot, which was much more successful and included a VERY cute video, which I'll post next time. However, I can send you guys another video that is only 2 seconds long (because I forgot the camera was on video and not picture) but is still so adorable if you send me an email. My address is bookchicclub-at-gmail-dot-com. Obviously the at is replaced with @ and dot is replaced by . and all the dashes aren't there. The reason I can send it over email is that apparently, it's only like 600KB, lol.
And yes, that is the bread I eat.

I'm skipping over the next closeup of Samson's face (that'll be posted next time) in favor of this ADORABLE picture, which is also very similar to what he does in the longer video that I'll post next time. He is so CUTE!!! I love him.
And now, the final picture, featuring the bottom half of the bookcase seen behind me in the vlogs I do:

This is mainly my VC Andrews and Meg Cabot shelves. Highlights here include a signed copy of Ready or Not from when I met Meg at the National Book Festival in 2005 (I also had my copy of An Improper Proposal, seen in the top half of this bookcase, and signed as well), a signed ARC of Girl Overboard by Justina Chen Headley.
PS I apologize for the glare in some of these pics. I took them at night, so I only have my lamp on and so my camera has to do a flash, which sometimes ruins the picture.
PPS Showing off my VC Andrews collection here will be done in place of the final vlog I never got around to posting as part of the VC Andrews Vlog Trilogy since the video is 13 minutes long and I have no idea how to cut it in half so that I can post it on Youtube.

Good/Bad News and VC Andrews Vlog Trilogy Part 2
So, some good/bad news- I found out yesterday that a shipment didn't come in on time at my workplace, and so therefore they have nothing for me and my co-data entriers to do. And so we've been given a temporary break until Feb. 9 while they work everything out, and then we'll be back at full force. Now, it's bad news because I won't be getting paid for another month (after next Thursday's paycheck for the 3 days I work this week, I won't have any more until Feb. 19) and so need to keep an eye on my budget, though luckily I have enough to last me. The good news though is that I've got a break and that I will now have lots of time to read books, so I'll be stocking up on reviews so that I can keep posting on the myspace blog when work starts up again. And I may also be going to the Ann Brashares signing in Bethesda, MD or Annapolis, MD in early Feb since I've got the time off now! That should be fun if it happens. I'm heading home this weekend for my uncle's birthday and am staying there for a few days to get my car serviced at the dealership and have a dental appt (ugh).
Anyway, earlier today, I posted reviews for What Would Emma Do? and Take The Reins on the myspace blog as well as posted a contest! Click here to read the entry!
And now, the second part of the VC Andrews vlog trilogy!:

VC Andrews Vlog Trilogy Part 1
So many of you probably already know all about the VC Andrews "Read the Good Trash" Movement that Taren and Steph started up a couple weeks ago, right? Well, even though I'm a secret participant, I decided to make up for that by doing a short series of vlogs about my love for VCA. Here's how it should go:
Part 1 (posted today)- History: My Introduction to the Wonders of VC Andrews
Part 2 (posted sometime next week)- History: Going up to the Present-Day
Part 3 (posted the week after Part 2)- A video showing off all my VC Andrews books.
So here's Part 1. I hope you guys enjoy it! And if there's anything else you want me to talk about in regards to VC Andrews, I can always add on future vlogs, so just leave suggestions in the comments. Even if I don't know necessarily what you want me to talk about, I will just ramble on and on with absolutely no point.
In My Mailbox is coming tomorrow!! Keep an eye out for it! :)
