1. Do you get to read as much as you WANT to read?
(I’m guessing #1 is an easy question for everyone?)
2. If you had (magically) more time to read–what would you read? Something educational? Classic? Comfort Reading? Escapism? Magazines?
1. Not anymore. Having a job DRASTICALLY cuts into my reading time. I might only be able to post reviews on the myspace blog on weekends rather than anytime throughout the week because I don't have enough to finish a book every couple days now, esp. with also trying to re-read the PD series. But ah well.
2. All the review books that are piling up- that question was easy to answer, lol. I've got WAY too many just sitting around gathering dust (well, not really, I try to keep my books dust-free).
That's all for now. Just a quick post before heading off to work!

Waiting on Wednesday (2)
OK, I know it's now technically Thursday (at least where I am), but whatever. I work until 11:30pm, and I didn't have enough time beforehand to post this.
Before I start this though, I have a quick question- Now, I just got a HUGE package of books from Jillian Laks at Penguin (FIFTEEN!!) and will probably have another couple ARCs in my mailbox once I'm able to open it (I lost my key and have to get a replacement one) since I haven't been able to open it since Saturday. So anyway, that's a lot of books, so I was thinking that I might just do the In My Mailbox feature in parts this week and divide everything up into a smaller dosage. But I also had the idea to just put up a cut where you'd see one or two on the main page and then have to click a link (Read More... - sorta like what most of the posts are like on GuysLitWire) to see the rest. Which would you guys prefer- divided up or behind a cut? Let me know in the comments! Thanks in advance!
Now, on to the book!

Parties and Potions by Sarah Mlynowski
Perfect hair, cute clothes, healthy tans—life’s a breeze when you’re a witch! Even special witchcraft classes Rachel agrees to attend with Miri turn out to be fun. The sisters meet other teen witches just like them—who knew? Everyone’s preparing for a magical party called a Samsorta—a debutante ball for witches. And it wouldn’t be a ball without warlocks. Cute ones. Like Adam, who wants to slow dance with Rachel, and ski with her in the Rockies—on a school night! Of course, Rachel is madly in love with her boyfriend, Raf. So why can’t she bring herself to tell Adam—funny, charming Adam—that Raf exists?
Rachel knows Raf likes her. Maybe even, gulp, loves her. But Raf doesn’t know her secret. Unlike Adam, Raf doesn’t know who she really is. And she can never tell him. Or can she?
My Thoughts: Alright, this won't be too much waiting on my part now since this book will be out in less than two weeks, but I have been wanting this book since I finished the third book, Spells and Sleeping Bags which I reviewed here very poorly (one of my first reviews), in the summer of 2007. I'm supposed to be getting an ARC from a friend of mine but she hasn't been able to send it out yet to my knowledge... I need to check in with her. But anyway, I love Mlynowski's writing and this series in particular because I love to read about witches. Give me a book about witches and I'll instantly love it (very similar to if you give me a book featuring a gay man) before even opening the book. Two of my favorite shows are all about witches- Charmed and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Witches = teh awesome. Screw the unicorn vs zombie fight- witches are where it's at.

Teen Tuesday (1)
Hey everyone! This is my first Teen Tuesday post, and I'm so excited for it!! :)
This has been a hectic week, so I haven't read a whole lot, though I think I did pretty well considering.
Beginning from last Tuesday, I've read Bewitching Season, which I reviewed here,
and Prom Nights From Hell by Rosemary Clements-Moore,
I'm also really enjoying re-reading the PD books. It's great fun and it's good so I can be prepared when I read the 10th book since it's been so long since I've read a PD book and I've kinda lost track of what went on. Reading them all in order as close together as possible helps a LOT. I'm so excited to read the 10th book! I'm actually planning on getting the audio CDs for PD5-9 from my library because at the job I have now, I can listen to stuff while I work, so perfect opportunity for me to continue the PD series while saving time to read stuff for my site when I'm not on work. :)
Coming up soon in my reading are these books:
Princess Diaries 4: Princess in Waiting- continuing the re-reading process
Hell Week by Rosemary Clements-Moore- reading the sequel to Prom Dates from Hell. I can't wait to see what Maggie gets involved in this time!
I So Don't Do Mysteries by Barrie Summy- I'm excited for this book and have been for a while. I love the title and the summary sounds great. Barrie is also my December Fresh New Voice of YA, along with Lesley Livingston. Look out for the FNV posts coming up next week!

In My Mailbox- Week of Dec. 1
This week was a slow week for me. I was actually kinda surprised at the lack of books because I thought I had gotten more, but apparently not. Here's what came for me:

You Are So Undead To Me by Stacey Jay
Fifteen-year-old Megan Berry is a Zombie Settler by birth, which means sheas part-time shrink to a bunch of dead people with a whole lot of issues.
All Megan wants is to be normalaand go to homecoming, of course. Unfortunately, itas a little difficult when your dates keep getting interrupted by a bunch of slobbering Undead.
Things are about to get even more complicated for Megan. Someone in school is using black magic to turn average, angsty Undead into flesh-eating Zombies, and itas looking like homecoming will turn out to be a very different kind of partyathe bloody kind.
Megan must stop the Zombie apocalypse descending on Carol, Arkansas. Her lifeaand more importantly, homecoming, depends on it.
My Thoughts: I've been wanting this book for a while now. I mean, with a title like that, who wouldn't want it? And I saw on Kristi's (The Story Siren) blog that she had two copies and so I asked her to send me one of the copies she got. She sent it and I'm so happy she did. I'm so excited to read this book! It'll be released on Jan. 22, 2009.

The Secret Circle: The Captive Part II and The Power by LJ Smith
Caught in the struggle between good and evil . . .
Cassie has joined the most alluring--and deadly--in-crowd imaginable. But power comes with a price, and it's more dangerous than she knows. Torn between the dueling desires of the two leaders of the Secret Grcle, she must ultimately choose between saving all of New Salem, and her own dangerous love for the bewitching Adam, which threatens to tear the circle apart. In the ultimate battle between good and evil, will Cassie's supernatural powers be strong enough to lead the coven out of danger? Or will she foil prey to the dark forces within?
. . . will she sacrifice her love for the circle to survive?
My Thoughts: This is another random book I've gotten from HarperTeen. I think the first volume somewhere in my room. I haven't read anything by this author before, but I've heard some good things about this writer. Apparently, these are republished omnibus books as the original books were released in 1992. I'm not even sure if I'll read them, so maybe if any of you out there wants them, I can send them to you. Might as well give them to someone who wants them.
And that's all for this week. Hopefully, more will be coming this week. I might have a Penguin shipment from Jillian coming in, but we'll see.

Booking Through Thursday (1)

1. Do you have a favorite author?
2. Have you read everything he or she has written?
3. Did you LIKE everything?
4. How about a least favorite author?
5. An author you wanted to like, but didn’t?
1. I have a lot of favorite authors, but I think my most favorite would have to be Meg Cabot.
2. Pretty close to everything, except for her historical romances (both adult and teen). I am however gonna be reading Ransom My Heart, the historical book she's writing as Mia Thermopolis, her character from PD. But I've read all of her contemporary ones and am actually now in the process of re-reading the Princess Diaries series.
3. Yeah, pretty much. I love all her books, though I did try Nicola and the Viscount, one of her teen historicals, and was not terribly impressed by it. But it's hard to get me into an historical novel, so it's a bit feat when I can a) finish it and b) enjoy it. But we'll see how Ransom My Heart goes. I'm 2 chapters in and am enjoying it so far, so it's looking good but it's still fairly early on.
4. Not really. If I don't like a book and it doesn't grab my attention, I'll just put it away and not bother with it, so I generally don't spend time with books and authors I'm not into.
5. Again, sort of the same answer as above, but I'll say Megan McCafferty. I heard SO many good things about her Jessica Darling series, but when I decided to start reading the first book, I couldn't get into it and I thought the main character was whiny. So I took it back to the library. I may give Megan another shot eventually, but my TBR pile is so huge, so I can't really take on more books at this moment in time.
